Last Year the SIS Board of Governors, Principals and the SIS External Board of Consultants agreed to introduce the IGCSE (Cambridge examinations) for all SIS Schools. The IGCSE is an international examination recognised by top Universities in the world and in Indonesia as an entry requirement.
In preparation for the IGCSE, the SIS campus in Bona
Vista introduced the independent Cambridge
Checkpoint examinations at the Primary 6 Level as
well as the Secondary 2 levels. Given the quality
education of international standards that all SIS
schools subscribe to, the pioneer students of the
SIS Bona Vista campus, as expected did extremely
well. Pre-liminary results of the Primary 6 examinations point to similar success.
SIS’ External Board of Consultants comprises international educationists. One such individual is Professor Gopinathan, a dean in the National Institute of Education, Singapore. The National Institute of Education in Singapore is the only Government body in Singapore responsible for teacher training and curriculum development of all teachers in Singapore. SIS also receives technical assistance from experts like Ron Perkinson from Washington. Ron is an expert in
international education with the International Finance Corporation (member of the World Bank Group). SIS is in a join co-operation with IFC to bring quality education to Indonesia.
